European Marshall Memorial Fellows in Atlanta
June 27th, 2007 • 2 comments Marshall Memorial Fellowship
Starting today and running for the next few days I am coordinating a trip to Atlanta for five European Marshall Memorial Fellows (MMF). This is the second year I’ve coordinated the Atlanta trip for European fellows and I hope this year will be smoother than last year. I’ve already hit some bumps in the road but nothing too huge.
We’ve got some fantastic meetings scheduled for the next few days. Among the things we’ll be doing are:
- touring Grady Memorial Hospital and getting an overview of healthcare in Atlanta
- visiting with the Chairman elect of the Fulton County Commissioners (he’s a MMF alum)
- visiting the Gateway Center and seeing how they help transition clients away from homelessness
- doing a ride along with DeKalb county police
- visiting the Martin Luther King Center
- doing a private tour of CNN (two MMF alums work at CNN)

I’ve been slack at updating this blog but I think I have a pretty good excuse. The family and I recently completed a 20 day east-coast road trip. I could have blogged the trip while I traveled but I was trying to keep computer time to a minimum. First, the vital stats of the trip and then the details.
Stats
- 2,792 miles driven
- 20 days
- 11 cities visited
- 3 nights spent in hotels
- 1 “Exit 0″(yes, zero) passed
