Server Migration
October 31st, 2007 • Technology
I’ve finally gotten around to moving this blog away from a server at my house and into a full fledged hosting facility. You should notice a lot snappier performance of the site and everything seems to be functioning. If you see anything that’s broken, drop a comment on this post and let me know. Thanks!

Fresh on the heels of the discovery of the unannounced raise by Tumblr, I thought I’d go check out the site and set myself up with a Tumblelog. Why do you care? Well, if you perhaps want to follow along and watch my del.icio.us links, dugg pages, blog postings, twitters, and Flickr photos in one simplified location, then my Tumblr site is for you. I must say that setup has been fantastically easy and they even gave me a way to loop RSS subscribers through Feedburner (although this required some HTML massaging to do) so I can track my stats. How’s that for an open and easy service that simplifies my life and integrates into everything I’m already doing. I’m not sure how they’ll make money but they get kudos for a well thought out service. Who knows, I might post Tumblr specific stuff in the future too!

I’ve been running around trying to catch up on things after the conference. The conference, I’m told, was a hit with everyone. I was too worried about the execution of the conference to really notice. And even though I sat in a lot of the panels, my mind was racing around and thinking about other issues. But looking back at the photos, everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves. All I know is that once the closing dinner rolled around on Saturday, I was having a lot of fun. All of my photos are now posted on Flickr, so feel free to take a look. I even included the psychedelic photos that I took while we were dancing after dinner on Saturday.
Final note about the conference. The folks over at Global Atlanta wrote a nice article about the Global Business luncheon that we had during the conference. Thanks Trevor!
