Atlanta Open Coffee - August 27, 2008
August 17th, 2008 • General
We really picked up steam for the last Open Coffee (get it? steam.. coffee.. ha!). There were probably 40-45 people who came by to mix and mingle. We had VCs, angels, and a bunch of entrepreneurs and hackers who came by to hang out and chat. There was some discussion at the start about recent blog commentary but we quickly broke into smaller groups to talk about all kinds of random topics.
Thanks again to Greg Foster for letting me announce his attendance before hand (he posted a comment as to why he couldn’t stay the whole time). I think Greg is going to try and come as is Alan Taetle from Noro-Moseley. Also, thanks to Alan Koenning for showing up. I totally didn’t know he was going to show which I think bodes well for how much folks want to get engaged in the local community. Kudos!
So with that, here are the details of the next Open Coffee. We’re going to do it on August 27th from 2pm until 5pm or so at Cafe Intermezzo Dunwoody across from Perimeter Mall (unlike the Starbucks at Georgia Tech, there is definitely free WiFi from 10am until 7pm at Cafe Intermezzo). Some of you may realize that this is the same day as Capital Lounge. Hopefully Open Coffee will be the pre-lounge get together for some of you. I’m planning on grabbing some food after Open Coffee (perhaps at Alon’s?) and before heading to Capital Lounge. Feel free to plan for that and tag along with me. I’d be happy to have the company.
Note, I don’t manage, organize, or control Capital Lounge. That’s another crew in town. So don’t beg me for a pass to get into Capital Lounge. I won’t be able to help you.
Feel free to let folks know you’ll be attending by leaving a comment, posting on the event on Upcoming.org, or just go stealth and show up.

I am hoping to make it to Open Coffee and looking forward to meeting you Sanjay. We just launched our new website, regator.com last week to a great reception on mashable, readwriteweb, techcrunch, downloadsquad, etc… I had no idea the startup community was so vibrant here in Atlanta! I guess we were too busy starting up to see what was apparently all around us. If you want to chat or have any questions about regator, drop me a line at scott at regator.com. you can also see all about us on our press page. http://www.regator.com/press
Cheers mate,

Sanjay: just down the street from the house & office. Will plan to attend and hope to catch up and get connected to this community of start up folks you’ve attracted … share ideas, get ideas and insights. Sounds cool (along with hot — as in coffee, that is. Your humor rubbing off?). Best, Randy

Hey Sanjay - Perimeter Mall area is a good call, since CapitalLounge is just right up the street.
Cheers.
