Big Problems At Chase

I’ve written before about problems with email security at large corporations. Well, it has hit me again just a few minutes ago but this time from Chase.
I’m not really a Chase customer but I have an Amazon.com Visa Card which is administered by Chase. So I really view myself as an Amazon.com customer and not a Chase customer.
First off, Amazon would probably be mad that Chase decided to use my email address (which they have for my account info for my Amazon.com Visa) to try and get me to use their Priority Club Rewards Visa card (again, administered by Chase). I’m a Priority Club member too but I’m not about to switch.
If that was the entire rub, it wouldn’t be a big deal. But instead, I just got three emails about this. Each one emailed to me but with the names of three different customers - none of which were me. Not only that but of the three customers (Donna T., Timothy D., and John C.) I also now have the last four digits of their credit cards.
I suspect someone out there received an email with my name and the last four digits of my credit card. This doesn’t make me happy and I’m going to write an email to Amazon in just a few minutes. But really, what is it going to take for corporations to respect our private information and not view everything as a way of marketing and getting more money.
Boo to you Chase. First for spamming and second for not knowing what you were doing.
UPDATE: I’ve emailed both Chase and Amazon.com. I’ll post more when (and if) they both respond.
