Atlanta (kinda) Open Coffee – November 12, 2008

For the next Open Coffee, we’re heading way, WAY outside the perimeter.  To Athens in fact.   It’ll be November 12, 2008 from 12pm until 1:30pm at the Espresso Royale located at:

297 E. Broad St.
Athens, Georgia 30601

If you’re an entrepreneur, angel investor, or VC you’re welcome to join us. If you’re not one of those three things, you’re welcome to stay away from this get together.

Feel free to RSVP below. Or don’t and just show up. Whatever.

After the event I’m heading over to UGA to speak to an entrepreneurship class.  I’ve been told I can bring along people too.  That class runs from 2pm until 4:45pm so if you want to come afterwards, you can just follow me along to UGA.

Also, do you find keeping up with these local events tough? If so, I’ve started an announcements only mailing list that you can subscribe to. Just send an email to atlstartups-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and you’ll get the announcements. I plan to keep the list postings to about one every few days at most but in no case more than one a day. Or you can just keep coming here to read the latest event scoop.

If you’re an entrepreneur, angel investor, or VC you’re welcome to join us. If you’re not one of those three things, you’re welcome to stay away from this get together.

Feel free to RSVP below or on the Upcoming event. Or don’t and just show up. Whatever.

Atlanta Open Coffee – August 27, 2008

We really picked up steam for the last Open Coffee (get it? steam..  coffee.. ha!).  There were probably 40-45 people who came by to mix and mingle.  We had VCs, angels, and a bunch of entrepreneurs and hackers who came by to hang out and chat.  There was some discussion at the start about recent blog commentary but we quickly broke into smaller groups to talk about all kinds of random topics.

Startup Riot 2008 Videos

So I got access to the videos that were recorded by Flashpoint Group during Startup Riot.  Some of the videos have been posted online at Omnisio.  You can look through them here.  I’ll continue to post new videos as I get clearance from the presenting companies.  Although a few have already said they don’t want their videos posted so I won’t have all 54 online.

If you don’t feel like clicking (it can be tiring), you can just watch my introductory comments or Drew Curtis’ keynote (way more entertaining) (I separated out Drew’s talk from mine – you can find Drew’s talk here) below.  Enjoy!

Announcing Bilgistic

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been working on a number of different projects. Today I’m launching the first one. It’s a new blog at www.bilgistic.com. More details on my thoughts and aspirations are in the first post at Bilgistic. Take a look and visit often. More announcements in the future!
