Digital Envoy - 6 Years Into It
March 17th, 2005 • Entrepreneurship + Startups
Today marks the 6th anniversary of the initial conception of Digital Envoy’s core NetAcuity technology.
The company and I have lived through a lot of changes over the years. We’ve lived through the growing Internet bubble and bust. We’ve been confronted with better funded competitors who we have beaten with our better technology, service, and relentless customer focus. We have survived taking on venture capital (yes, I’ve decided that this is something you have to survive not something that helps you survive). We have wrestled with the US Patent Office and walked away with a patent for our technology.
So where has all that work gotten us? We’ve ridden the ebb and flow of business to finally be at a place in time where people really understand why what we do is important. People finally “get it”. Plus, all of our hard work has also gotten us to the point where people recognize us as the industry leader in what we do. Sure, one of our competitors keeps sending out press releases saying they are “the world’s leading provider” or “the world’s premier provider” (they apparently can’t figure out if it is better to be “leading” or “premier”), but come on. The rest of us, inside and outside of our market, know who the big dog in the market is and it isn’t you.
Many kudos and congratulations go out to the entire Digital Envoy team and all the former team members who have moved on to other projects and challenges. We couldn’t have gotten to where we are now without everyone’s hard work and for that I thank you.
