My New Adventure: Goizueta Business School

So I’ve been pretty quiet as of late which has been induced by one big cause really. About two months ago I decided to take a hiatus from my company so that I could pursue my MBA. Back in mid-May I joined the accelerated one year MBA class of 2006 at Emory’s Goizueta Business School.

I must say, the summer so far has been intense. The one year program crams in a year worth of schooling into 12 weeks - four weeks per module. Each module has three classes going on it. Midterms happen in late week two usually and finals in the fourth week. Hectic? Yes. The great benefit of doing this program though is that you accomplish in one year what most people do in two. Although the tuition savings is only one semester (since the program goes three semesters for a full calendar year in length as opposed to four semesters over two calendar years) the time savings is the biggest benefit.

One of the wonderful things that I’ve been able to do because of this hiatus is that I’m starting to think of business, processes, and other things in ways that I haven’t in a long time. I can already see the application of a lot of things that I’ve learned on real world problems.

So that is what I’ve been up to. Hopefully I’ll have more time to write soon about school, business, and many other things.
